Cloves are the dried, unopened flower buds of an evergreen tree native to the fabled Spice Islands. A pinch of Ground Cloves adds spicy depth to gingerbread, cookies, applesauce, fruit muffins, and spice cakes. Its also a secret ingredient in barbecue and cocktail sauces.
